Sustainable Tourism Development in Romania
The official launch of the 2009-2010 “Program for the sustainable development of companies in Romania, with guidance to increase national expertise in the areas of Cleaner Production and Corporate Social Responsibility in tourism” was held on June, 19 at Ramada Bucharest Parc Hotel.
This initiative aims for:
- Implementation of Cleaner Production methodologies and Corporate Social Responsibility in the tourism establishments in Bucharest and Prahova Valley
- Training consultants in the national areas in Cleaner Production and Corporate Social Responsibility
The program is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism, the United Nations for Industrial Development (UNIDO) and the Government of Switzerland, the last one providing funding thru the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
In Romania, the program is implemented by Center for Sustainable Development, composed of private companies’ denkstatt Romania and Trend Hospitality.

together with the entire project team, presented the involvement and support for the program and described the steps and methodologies Cleaner Production and Corporate Social Responsibility by which the Center for Sustainable Development aims at achieving.
Tourist establishments in the mentioned areas are invited to apply to this program and benefit from advice at the highest level of professionalism from the national and international experts of the Center for Sustainable Development.
